There was a hilarious story a while back about a socialite who wanted to return an evening gown purchased at a high-end retail shop. But the dress was soiled and not exactly in mint condition. She insisted this was the way the dress was when she bought it and stood firm that the item had not been worn. The sales clerk went to the manager who returned a short time later with the morning’s paper in hand. The customer had made the front page the day before (at a charity event) wearing the same gown she was now trying to return. You know what? They gave her a refund! Sheesh.
