Packing a brown bag for lunch can save money, there’s no doubt about that. While I was employed with a publishing company in a large city I felt getting out of the building every day for a lunch was a necessity I could not do without. Part of my decision to leave promptly at noon was based on the fact that someone on our floor brown-bagged the most disgusting, fowl-smelling fish stew that you could ever imagine. She’d eat this slowly at her desk five days a week. We all had to evacuate the building. Area restaurants did a banner business.
