Rattlesnake

Baby rattlesnakes are born with just one button at the end of their tails. Each time they shed their skin, a new button is added. Once they reach adulthood  the rattle that serves as a warning when they are alarmed is actually several buttons rubbing together.  I hope I never personally encounter such a snake, but if I did, I’d hope he’d look like one of my cartoons.
